Applied Academics (formerly Vocational Preparatory Instruction)

Students are enrolled in this course through the Student Services Department as preparation for successful completion of one of our Career and Technical programs. The purpose of Applied Academics (VPI) is to strengthen the student’s academic, technical and employability skill sets. This program strives to inspire and motivate students to become productive, self-sufficient members of the workforce. The Applied Academics Program is based upon the assessed needs of the individual and the academic and employability requirements related to Florida’s Comprehensive Career and Adult Education programs.

Effective 7/1/2011 the State of Florida requires students in Adult Education classes to pay tuition for their class. The tuition for Adult Education classes are $30 per session for students that qualify for in state tuition and $120 per session for those that do not qualify for in state tuition. Session 1 runs from 8/8/2011 to 12/16/2011 and session 2 is from 1/4/2012 to 5/24/2012.
