Mission:

The mission of this program is to provide instruction in the classroom, laboratory, and various clinical settings.  Students give nursing care in local hospitals and geriatric facilities.  Learning experiences are also provided in home health care, hospice, doctors' offices, and clinics.

 

Description:

Course completion skills include personal; family and community health; structure and function of the human body; nutrition; human growth and development; nursing needs of the patient; fundamentals of nursing; geriatric nursing; medical/surgical nursing; pharmacology/administering medication; maternal and neonatal nursing; pediatric nursing, and comprehensive nursing.

Information Sessions:

Withlacoochee Technical Institute will be enrolling students for the upcoming Practical Nursing classes. The first step in the enrollment process is to attend an information session on the program. Information sessions are scheduled for:

  • Monday, September 10, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday, September 14, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.

Attendance at one of these information sessions is mandatory prior to proceeding with the enrollment process and to sign up for the National League of Nursing Exam.

There are a limited number of students admitted to the class; therefore, there is a selection process that applicants must follow. Students must pass the National League of Nursing-Preadmission Exam to qualify. The cost of the exam is approximately $50 and is due at registration.
